Mike Gibson
Managing Director
Mike founded AB&S based on the belief that a business should be driven by what its customers want to buy, not what the business has to sell. It sounds simple enough, but this approach is a key part of our continued success. When we first opened our doors we only sold beef and lamb but our customers wanted more. So we expanded our offering to include pork, chicken, bacon and this list is still expanding today in order to meet the needs of our customers.
With over 40 years of experience in the meat industry, Mike has developed a real understanding of what customers want. To Mike the customer is king, he’s all about quality, service and price. He believes that our ability to consistently deliver in these 3 areas is what sets us apart from our competitors. We’re the only wholesaler with a BRC AA grade accreditation that offers customers such a wide selection of meats. He’s proud to have helped to create a one-stop-shop, where our customers can get all their meat at the right quality, with the right service and at the right price.
Spencer Corbett
Operations Director
Spencer has been a part of the meat industry all of his life. His dad worked in the meat trade and he often accompanied him to the factory and eventually worked alongside him before going to college to study Meat Technology and qualifying as a meat inspector.
He worked as meat inspector for a number of years before helping to start AB&S with Mike Gibson. Today, Spencer is our Operations Director and he uses over 34 years’ of technical, retail and production expertise to keep everything running smoothly. His experience allows him to see things from the customers’ perspective, which helps us make sure that the quality, the service and the price is always right.
Simon Tighe
Sales Executive
Simon started working in the meat industry at age 16, since then he’s enjoyed a successful career spanning over 40 years. He’s achieved success in a number of areas within the meat trade, including management, de-boning, slaughterhouse before moving into sales and joining AB&S Wholesale 11 years ago.
Hard work and motivation has been key to Simon's continued success and he relishes the challenge of generating sales and providing a consistently great service to our customers. Simon takes a real pride in the products that we sell. We have vigorous standards and the meat always has to be right before we send it to our customers. If it’s not good enough it doesn’t leave the factory. He’s passionate about the future and helping both AB&S Wholesale and our customers to achieve bigger and better things.
Greg Smith
Sales Executive
Greg started working in the meat industry over 25 years ago. He immediately felt he had a talent for this industry and began building expertise with poultry, bacon, beef and box beef before joining AB&S Wholesale. He’s responsible for a multitude of meat products but his specialty is undoubtedly poultry. His expertise in this field complements the other members of our team to help create a very wide and varied knowledge base.
Greg and the team face new challenges together everyday, regularly sharing offers and deals with each other in order to ensure that our customers always get the best possible service. Greg revels in his demanding, ever-changing role and is looking forward to continuing to help push the company forward by consistently sourcing the right product for the right price and keeping our customers happy.
